Bonus abuse

How multi-accounting turns a welcome bonus into a leak

Every operator I’ve talked to has the same story. The welcome bonus works. It also gets farmed.

Here’s how, in plain terms.

One person, ten accounts

The abuser isn’t clever. They’re patient. They sign up with a fresh email, claim the bonus, play just enough to clear it, and withdraw. Then they do it again. And again.

Each account looks fine on its own. A normal email, a normal deposit, a normal bet. The pattern only shows up when you put the accounts side by side.

What the accounts share

Even careful abusers reuse things, because changing everything is expensive.

No single signal proves anything. Together they usually do.

Why catching it late is expensive

If you find the link after the payout, the money’s gone. You’re left with a chargeback, a support ticket and a very annoyed compliance team. Multi-accounting can also point to bigger problems, like AML cases later.

The cheap place to catch it is before the bonus is paid.

What a check at signup looks like

You ask one question at signup and at claim: is this person already here?

That’s what we’re building SybilZero for. It’s an API you call from your signup and claim flow, and it tells you when one person is behind several accounts. It looks at device, email, network and velocity signals together, and returns ALLOW, REVIEW or BLOCK with the reasons. You can read more at sybilzero.com.

What works: linking accounts on several weak signals at once, and checking before the payout.

What doesn’t (yet): we’re early. We don’t have customer results to quote, and we won’t make any up. If you run bonus abuse controls today, I’d like to hear what you do and where it breaks.
